There’s a phase that I’ve come to despise. You know the one.

The new normal

But here it is. Going to get a sandwich for dinner. Sitting in the restaurant with no one around you. Wearing a mask and being patient as the workers do their best to provide good service while being as safe as possible.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mind wearing my mask. It’s a good feeling to know that there is no way I can affect the people around me and, if they’re wearing theirs, they can’t affect me. I don’t have Covid or anything else. It’s a security blanket. Just wondering how long this will be “normal.”
